I’m supposed to be writing about what solutions we have to help you with the risks of container packing but i stumbled across a couple of  articles today that got me sidetracked…  this one in particular  http://boingboing.net/author/maggie_koerth-baker from www.boingboing.net had me trailing off looking for more disasters about shipping containers….

Did you know that over 10,000 shipping containers fall overboard every year? That’s right, 10,000 a year! And they’re just left on the ocean floor!

Like other articles I’ve seen, I’m sure I should be spinning off onto the environmental impact (which does interest me, so perhaps another blog will follow on that topic). But I can’t help but wonder what goes through the mind of a person shipping products worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, or millions of dollars for that matter. The risks are huge, you’d almost want to follow behind the ship watching for its safe arrival.

I guess reading about risks like this makes it easier to write about our Packing Service division, of course you want to protect your shipment, there are enough risks that are out of your control, why would you make excuses to avoid protecting the things that are in your control?
